Moving any piece of furniture isn’t magic but still, some safety tips can be helpful.

2. Find the best way to move your furniture out. Surely the wider the passage the better for your hands holding that precious nightstand, and for the nightstand itself. If you are not sure if it would fit through the door – just use a measuring tape, your eyes are not a ruler!
3. Leather upholstered furniture definitely requires protection before any transportation. Pad or blanket cover is definitely cheaper than that leather couch you already spent a fortune on.
4. We all love IKEA furniture for its affordability, cool design, and convenience. What it usually lacks though is sturdiness. Wobbly dressers won’t survive long-distance road vibrations, so make it less prone to damage by tightening those screws or nails popping first. Use shrink-wrap. It will hold your not so old but half-dead IKEA dresser together way better.
5. Glass, mirrors, stone plates… and other easily breakable stuff. Cardboard and blankets make the best combo for glass-covered furniture, so don’t be lazy and use those for every piece. The double blanketed marble top will not say thanks to you, but at least you will find it in the same condition it was before moving.
